April 2013

Welcome! My goal is to effect the way people see God. I hope these monthly views and the rest of this website will help illuminate the revelation of Jesus Christ. My desire is to always have others feel loved and to help them understand God loves them.

A LOVING RESPONSE…

It is always such a blessing to hear how God uses this website to touch lives with His love. Remember, “This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1

Many people find my address on the Internet and write me personally. This is what my Christian brother, Matt, wrote:

“I grew up in a home where unhappiness was common. Love was seldom shown, nor was ‘I love you’ ever spoken. I grew up with a low self-esteem and became a driven individual who could not accept even the slightest amount of failure in my life.

“Nearly 10-years ago, as an adult in my early 30’s, I confronted my parents with how I felt about my past. I was only met with anger and subsequently disowned. That only proved to make me feel less of a person and even more lost.

“As a career military man, I deployed to the Middle East severed time after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. After my last deployment, which was extremely arduous, I reached out to Mr. Watson, quickly forming a friendship and lavishing in his loving guidance. He has led me to release my anger and resentment, teaching me that it would only continue to do harm to me spiritually.

“Through the course of our relationship, I have grown spiritually and have felt the stinging of my anger, resentment and inability to forgive decrease. I am thankful for Mr. Watson’s guidance and friendship. I am grateful that God sent me to him when I truly needed guidance the most.”

I am encouraged to hear how God has used me in Matt’s life. I can respond to everyone like I have with Matt, but the Lord has given me this website to reach the multitudes. I hope you’ll spend time on the site for healing through faith in God’s grace.

IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE …

God’s amazing grace is all about how He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. This is real love, not that we loved God. He took our punishment for sin, and freely gave us His righteousness, a righteousness which none of us deserves. Oh how He loves you and me!

It is the knowledge of His love that empowers us to be free of unhappiness, low self-esteem, fear of failure, anger, resentment and the inability to forgive. Matt is grateful because God has opened his eyes to the power of His love. As a result, he is now able to share God’s love with his family, me and even you.

“Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.” 2

The knowledge of God’s love [Greek: agape] not only causes us to love Him, but enables us to love [Greek: phileo] one another as brothers and sisters. In marriage, knowing God’s love as the foundation, enables one to sexually love [Greek: eros] their mate unconditionally. All of our relationships are affected by the knowledge of God’s love for us.

GOD LIVING IN US …

God’s love living in us is the key to ignite all of our relationships. I didn’t experience God’s loving glow in me until 1975, when I confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior. After believing that God raised Him from the dead, the Holy Spirit came into my heart, giving me a new life. He empowered me to know and to believe in His love. The Apostle John put it this way:

“And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. ALL who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

“God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 3

If you are overcome with negative emotions such as rejection, resentments, fear and anger, you are not experiencing God’s love, because “ . . . anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 4

OVERCOMING BY FAITH …

We overcome this confused world by faith in God’s love and grace. Our sole focus is to remain on God’s love for us, “ . . . because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid . . . this shows we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.” 5

Maybe you have not experienced God’s perfect love. We are all growing in love, but possibly you need to come to Christ. Are you a child of God?

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too . . . For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” 6

Won’t you receive His love today, and get on the victorious road defeating this evil world through faith?

A PRAYER FOR YOU…

Heavenly Father, I believe in Your glorious, unlimited resources, that You will empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit. That Your Spirit will make His home in my heart as I trust and cling to Your Son; that my roots will grow deep in Your Word and keeping me strong; that You grant me understanding as all Your children testify to how wide, how long, how high and how deep Your love is. May I experience the love of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. I ask to be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes only through You.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
