About Charles - Present
Charles
lives peacefully in prison. He is a man
of character, who shines brightly in a dark
place. His identity has shifted from that
of a murderer to a child of God. He no longer
allows his crime to identify who he is.
He sees himself as God sees him -- a new
creation in Christ.
He is not only a man of faith, but of feeling.
He works as a housing unit janitor, where he relates
to men on a caring level. He walks the prison
yard while sharing what it means to be a Christian.
He fellowships with other Christians and helps
them to see God as their heavenly Father who loves
them unconditionally. He is a leader within the
chapel program and teaches there regularly.
He is a man of sound logic and reasoning. People
listen to him because of the life they see him
living. He listens to people and encourages them
in their weaknesses. He shares a Godly wisdom
that has come through past failures and years
of spiritual and mental growth.
He boldly rejects the perception of legalistic
Christianity, where people are led to believe
they can earn their salvation through their own
good works. He lives every day reaching out to
unbelievers with the grace of God and prays with
believers to understand their awesome inheritance
because of their union with Christ's death, burial
and resurrection.
